Or should I say my entire home?
We are currently going through a kitchen remodel, and let me tell you...the kitchen somehow makes the ENTIRE house a mess.
For the past two weeks we have been living with nothing in the kitchen except for a banquet table, stove, sink and fridge. We have nothing left but the studs and a sub floor. Seriously...it's a mess.
I am beyond excited to get our kitchen remodel, because Lord, knows we needed it! I don't think it had been updated since the 1930's. No joke! I mean, we painted the cabinets and the ugly paneling, but it needed a complete overhaul. For some reason, because back then didn't believe in insulation. Our pipes were freezing whenever it got below 20 degrees, the cabinets were falling apart,...and quite frankly, we couldn't take it anymore. It was the only room in the house that we didn't remodel when we moved in, mainly because it is by far the most expensive room in the house to do. And if we were going to remodel the kitchen, we were going to remodel top to bottom. Knock it all down, and start all over.
2 weeks. 2 weeks, and most of the kitchen should be put back in FUNCTIONING order. THANK GOODNESS!!! We have boxes of cabinets that were delivered the other day all over the house; in the living room, in the playroom, in our bedroom. The only room that didn't get boxes of cabinets was the study, and that is only because the study is full of boxes of our food, dishes, glasses, etc...
The OCD in me is SCREAMING in pain. Unfortunately, there is NOTHING I can do about this situation until the kitchen is complete.
So this year when we Spring Clean our home...it is from top to bottom!!! I can't even tell you how much dust has been created from the demo. And I can't imagine how much dust when my husband installs and sands the hardwood floors is going to create. AHH!!! I want to be on one of those HGTV shows where they put you in a hotel for a few days and you come home and VOILA!!! Hey, a girl can dream right?!
I promise to upload pics of this kitchen soon. Then you can see the lack thereof of a kitchen we have. Take-out anyone?
